Despite the immense potential of many children with AS, without understanding and support from their families, friends, and teachers they may not be able to fulfill their potential. This is especially true when social errors in the face of intellectual gifts cause those unfamiliar with AS to utter the statement-packaged-as a-question, “Shouldn’t he (or she) know better?!”
